There is no assessed performance work at either level; however, basic keyboard skills are an advantage. Students are expected to perform with a band or ensemble over the course – this can be school based or home based. The majority of the course is practical work with 10 pieces of coursework completed over the two year course. Students will need to be well motivated and organised. Churchill Community School runs Cubase software on PC’s for sequencing work and Sibelius for score production. Recording work is completed on digital 8 track recorders (portable) and on a 16 track Protools system within the professional recording studio in the Performing Arts building. Course entrance requirement is GCSE Music or suitable keyboard and notation skills.
